kitty anne donovan
this is kitty donovan. she's a 15 year old sophomore studying classical music. born in hampshire, england, she moved to portland when she was 12 when her parents' boss transferred her. she had always been into musical theatre and really started participating in school shows before she moved. about a month after she had moved to the states, she got back into theatre and musicals. kitty started with community theatre not long thereafter, and got into opera when she was 13. her mother recognized her talent for music and saw that vea school for musical talents was accepting applications. when she told kitty about she, she begged her mother to let her audition, and now we're here today. she's a light lyric first soprano who can belt and be colorautura as well. she's studying musical theatre, classical voice, and opera.
kitty's a little on the quiet side. she doesn't typically like interacting with people she doesn't know. other people usually have to initiate the conversation to talk with her. she's quite awkward, never really sure what to do with herself unless she's with someone she's really comfortable with. when you do break through her shell, she's very bubby and giggly... a little too bubbly and giggly for some people. she tends to be perceived as cute or annoying. she's very blunt and brutally honest. if your pitch isn't in the right place, she'll call you out on it even if you're an upperclassman. of course, it'd come out sounding something like "so, uh, you were just a little... okay, quite a lot, actually, but still... flat. yes, you were... flat" but it's the honest truth nonetheless. the most rebellious thing she ever does is go back and forth between being a blond and a brunette. she changes her hair color all the time, much to her mother's dismay. she's an extremely faithful christian. not just the "attend church every sunday and go to bible study on wednesday," but kitty actually tries to be a disciple of christ and live out jesus' name. music is pretty important in this school and she tends to listen to classical, showtunes, indie, and some pop punk here and there. she loves kris herman and kate nash, and one direction is her guilty pleasure.
she hasn't told a soul, but doctors told her mother to abort her because it looked like she would have some sort of genetic disorder from the ultrasounds. her mom refused and wouldn't let them make a karyotype because she said it was "up to god what happens to this baby, and i will take care of her no matter who she is." kitty thanks god every day that her mother made (what she thinks was) the right choice and carried out her pregnancy and that the doctors were wrong about her having a genetic disorder. it's no secret she's against abortion, but she won't tell anyone why.
friends. kitty would probably have a few close friends and a lot of awkward acquaintances. she's not completely antisocial, just a little scared to talk to people.
enemies. it wouldn't be surprising if kitty had some enemies. she can get quite annoying (especially to older kids) and some people who spend rehearsals with her don't like her bluntness. a few people are turned off by her being religious, and some more even make snap judgements that she's a bigot and hates everyone that isn't a christian (though that's the exact opposite).
lovers. kitty's probably had a crush or two in her time at vea, just hasn't acted on it. it would be up to the guy to get things rolling. she refuses to be intimate with anyone until marriage for both religious and health reasons. oh, and she's straight because i know people are wondering lol.
so yeah, sorry if this seems a bit thrown together, i haven't done one of these in a while.
